Kloeden New Forestry Tasmania Chairman

Adrian Kloeden who led the international development of the Woolmark brand has been appointed the new chairman of the Forestry Tasmania (FT) board, effective 1 July.
Kloeden succeeds Laurie Wilson who has retired after seven years in the position.
A member of the FT board for seven years, Kloeden has extensive experience as a company director. He is currently chairman of Serco Asia Pacific, Deputy Chancellor of Deakin University and a director the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia and Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.
As managing director of The Woolmark Company Pty Ltd, Kloeden led its restructure into a leading multinational intellectual property company. He was responsible for the company’s business development program and forged strategic alliances, developed e-commerce opportunities, integrated its Australian and international operations, and brought a commercial focus to its R&D program.
Board member Ted Best has also retired from FT. Geoff Coffey, director of Pacific Hydro Ltd and Utilities of Australia Pty Ltd, and Miles Hampton, former managing director of Roberts Ltd, have been appointed to fill the vacancies.

Bill Kranenburg Calls It A Day

Long-time respected timber grading authority Bill Kranenburg, 69, is to close his activities in this sector, effective 1 October.
The grading services of Brisbane-based Kranenburg International Timber Training are fully booked and will continue until the end of September.
“Our industry work in 2008 will be restricted to product knowledge courses and some consultancy work,” Kranenburg told Inwood.
