BORAL Plywood has achieved chain-of-custody (CoC) certification under the Australian Forest Certification Scheme for its wide range of sustainable products.
Boral Plywood is Australia’s leading plywood producer, operating a large plant at Ipswich in Queensland.
The company becomes the second plywood mill in Australia to attain CoC certification. Big River Timbers at Grafton in northern New South Wales achieved the certification earlier this year.
Chain of custody is a process of tracking the material originating from certified forests through all phases of manufacturing from defined forest areas to the final consumer. The CoC certification undertaken by Boral Plywood and Big River Timbers complies with all the requirements of AS 4707-2006: CoC for Certified Wood and Forest Products under the AFS certification scheme.
