New Brand And Direction For Hyne

The big private Australian structural timber company Hyne Timber has had a face-lift! A strategic brand refresh sees its familiar red diamond logo updated and a new, simpler trading name, Hyne, effective immediately.
Managing director John McNamara says:“In an age where climate change and the environmental credentials of building materials are important community values, the new Hyne will offer its customers more relevant, greenhouse- positive product packages that are clearly and consistently branded.”
McNamara says the new brand image also signifies a growing presence in the structural softwood market, in Australia and overseas. “A new marketing campaign has been created to bring to life the Hyne family of products and we’ll be focusing on the environmental advantages of our timber products over other building materials as an integral part of the company’s future.”
Hyne is a leading Australian manufacturer and distributor of engineered, structural and decorative softwood products to the building industry.

Timberlands To Manage Tassie Joint Venture

Forestry Tasmania (FT) has appointed New Zealand forest management group Timberlands Ltd to run its jointly-owned softwood plantations following a decision by US-based Rayonier to leave the state.
Rayonier, which owns, leases or manages more than 1.9 million ha of forests in the US and New Zealand, has made a strategic decision to concentrate on company-owned assets. It has managed the Tasmanian joint venture between FA and GMO Renewable Resources since 1999.
Timberlands joint managing director David Balfour said his company was excited about the opportunity to expand its operations to Tasmania.
“We will support the existing team of employees and contractors in the management of about 44,000 ha of plantations in northern Tasmania,” Balfour told Inwood.
He expected the joint venture management arrangements to be completed before the end of the year.
Forestry Tasmania’s managing director Bob Gordon was quick to confirm Rayonier’s decision was not related to the company’s long-running log supply dispute with a northern Tasmanian sawmiller.
Rayonier Tasmania has recently been embroiled in legal action over its decision to award a pine softwood contract to Forest Enterprises Australia rather than to Australian sawmiller Auspine.
