Plant Health Role For Dr Glen Kile

26 October 2007
Dr Glen Kile, managing director of Forest and Wood Products Australia, has been appointed to Plant Health Australia’s (PHA) board of directors. Dr Kile is the current Managing Director of Forest and Wood Products Australia.
Dr Kile was elected along with Dr Tony Gregson (deputy chairman), Xavier Martin (PHA director) and Selwyn Snell (former CEO of Single Vision Grains Australia) at PHA’s 7th annual general meeting.
Dr Kile has extensive experience in R&D leadership and management, cooperative research centres, and science and technology policy issues relating to forestry.
Chief executive of Australian Plantation Products and Paper Industry Council (A3P) Neil Fisher said Dr Kile would be a tremendous asset to PHA and its members.
“As a member of PHA, A3P looks forward to working with Dr Kile and the PHA board on plant health issues, particularly in relation to biosecurity.”
A3P has worked alongside PHA, Australian Forest Growers (AFG) and government and industry experts to develop the National Plantation Timber Industry Biosecurity Plan.
Dr Kile was the previous executive director of the former Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation and chief of CSIRO Forestry and Wood Products.
