All Change to the Furniture Market

A special review in the latest issue of Inwood, Australasia’s biggest circulating wood business magazine, suggests that the global furniture industry is in a state of massive flux – with dramatic changes underway with regard to how products are both made and sold.
While some Asian producers are on a seemingly unstoppable journey towards global domination, the ‘old guard’ European manufacturers are having to get used to the fact that their survival is likely to include more international joint ventures, a lot more travel and a change of diet. (A significant number of Italian designers and manufacturers have already relocated to).
And, it is the pace at which adds more refinement and modernity to its products, and the way they are marketed, that will largely determine the future for the mainly Western producers currently in control of the mid-to-high priced furniture market.
The Inwood special report includes reviews of both the Malaysian and Singaporean international furniture shows.
